Baby Names

We are having a tough time picking a baby name for this second kid. At first, both Brent and I really liked Mila, but I can't stomach how close it sounds to Ella, both having the same exact 2nd syllable. Here are our (and my) other picks so far:

1. Michelle, with the nickname Mickey. Mickey is maybe too Disney related... but mostly cute
2. Lucy (Brent really likes Lucille and call her Lucy for short. I love Lucy, and mostly like Lucille)
3. Scarlet- though I think this one is out of the running. We realized one of our friends has a 1 year old named Scarlet, and we may be close enough friends that it would be weird.
4. Christine/ Diana - I like these, but we can't quite agree on them. Christine was my middle name until I changed my name to Hannah Dunn Mouritsen instead.

It was fun to read through my baby name list from last time.

I am 30 weeks along. I'm where its annoying to pregnant. Belly in the way all the time, get short of breath when I lean to pick up something, blah blah blah. I'm so curious what life will be like with 2 babies- I think it might be nice to not have to think about only Ella all the time. It'll be like thinking of two Ellas. ha.

PS as a pick me up:   "Happiness doesn't come as a result of luck or accident. It most certainly doesn't come from having all of our wishes come true. Happiness doesn't come from external circumstances. It comes from the inside-regardless of what is happening around us." -Dieter F. Uchtdorf
I struggle with a bad attitude 75% of the time and its annoying to me and Brent. This saying above makes me feel good. Hopefully I can remember it.

And just for grins, look at this old photo! we are so cute. I still have that shirt. and would wear it if it fit right now- which it do NOT

Also, Ella and I were at the jumping gym yesterday. Its this legit place with a toddler climbing gym and trampolines and foam pits and all sorts of obstacle course stuff. Ella was riding on this little scooter around while I sat on the bench. This older boy came up to her and smashed his toy on Ella's head. I didn't see any reason why. WHAT THE HECK. I started walking toward them and the boy walked away and I gave him a very good evil eye. Ella looked confused and pointed to her head. I told her, when someone hits you, say, "DON'T HIT ME. GO AWAY." I thought that would be a good response. Not hitting back, but still fighting back and being confident. The experience made me want to cry.

  1. Sounds like something Mack would do (be the boy that hit her on the head). It's an awful phase he's going through right now and drives me crazy. I have to watch him like a hawk & it's beyond embarrasing when he hurts other people. So sorry for Ella. She's such a sweet thing.

  2. DO NOT CALL LITTLE SISTER Ivanka, or Melania & Hillary aint so good either! Look in the Bible- biblical names generally do well... How about Rebecca (Becky) or Rachel. Of the names you mention, Lucy or perhaps your Moms name Belinda.
