Wedding Style??

My wedding is next Friday, and I still don't know what to do with my hair. This is crunch time! I'm very nervous. I was thinking of trying this little number up top. Any ideas? It seems relatively easy... but everything does online :( directions are here.

I wish I could do something beautiful and boho, like this below. But goodness knows I'm not skilled enough to make that happen!

I think these curls below look lovely and fresh, but every time I try to do curls over all my hair it looks too overdone and middle school!

And yet... this girl below looks like she did nothing to her hair and it looks so simple and intimate and lovely, like her and her husband are best friends gettin hitched.

Obviously I'm undecided and need assistance.... heaven help me!

Fresh Take... Art

Paintings by German Expressionist artist, Emil Nolde (its a man, if you were wondering :) His stuff is brilliant with those bold thick strokes. That last one is Emil's depiction of the Last Supper. There is that space at the front of the table there just for you, the viewer. And I think the crazy greens and bright yellows are like painting the feelings the people are having on the inside, on the outside.

Beautiful

Ballet dancer Susan Jaffe
I miss ballet, tons. I'm thinking of taking an open ballet class at Ballet West in Salt Lake tomorrow (though its at 9am! woof). Its only $10 a class... and I'm hoping to take em up this summer. I miss it so bad sometimes, it hurts! When I see photos and YouTube videos and whatnot online... so maybe these classes will be the fix!

Also, the big day is oh so close, 12 days away. And yet.. it seems like months away still. I hope it goes by so fast.

At the wedding dinner, we're planning on having a table with photos of our parents and grandparents on their wedding day or as engaged couples. Check out this one below, a sweet one of Brent's grandparents on his dad's side.

And check out this one, taken in 1970, of my grandma Phoebe's parents, Walter John and Doris. How romantic!

Sweet People

It is such a treat to have my mom here. She stayed at my house the last two nights, and what a trooper. I was so busy with dumb things (ahem, school and work) I spent .02% of the time I wanted to spend with her. While driving to work the other night, I was chatting with Brent about the situation, and he asked if she wanted to come to his church talent show. Brilliant. Of course she wanted to go, so my mom went and met all his friends, how adorable is that?!

Brent did a little number... from the Beauty and the Beast musical (he was Gaston in his high school's production!) and my mom was so smitten! But who wouldn't be? take a look yourself...
Also, I am just so lucky. Brent's mom, Kathy, and her sisters are throwing me a bridal shower this weekend! How sweet is that? Brent and I registered at Target for all sorts of kitchen appliances and whatnot... and when my mom saw it, she says, "Aren't you going to get any personal things?"

When I said no, she kinda laughed... so I think mom's gonna throw a spicy, scandalous gift in the pile. Get ready ladies for a shocker :)

Bring on the...

This is what I see outside my house. Utah has its perks. Let this good weather bring good luck, karma, vibes, fortune, anything that will help me focus on studying for finals (so I don't end up like this poor girl who looks like studying has given her a good beating but is still so good-looking... what is Megan's secret? :)

The Countdown

Doesn't she look wonderful? Mom with her sister
in Utah a few years back, Christmas of 2008 I think
Ladies and Gentlemen (I doubt any men read blogs... lets be honest), so just ladies, my mom is in Utah right this very moment and I am so very excited to say that I will see her very soon! Right this moment she is at the Wight House, getting her plan on with the event planner, working through all the details like only a mom can do. I am so thankful she is here to coordinate wedding details while I focus (correction, try try try to focus) on passing those dreadful finals next week.
Mom with the bro and sis
Also, I cannot wait for John and dad to get here, what a treat it will be. My family surprised me last minute with John coming, and I cannot tell you how wonderful that is. I got the news on campus, and balled like a baby, for all to see. But no matter, all the brothers will be there, which is a dream come true. Granny Phoebe... now how can we get you here, hmm? Private jet? Hot air balloon? the Secret Service? I've been telling people about my British granny and everyone wants to meet you (Whitney asked if you were coming).

But, I cannot believe the wedding is only 23 days away (what the?). But, to be honest, it still seems so far away. Maybe once the finals milestone has been reached, it will feel closer. Brent and I even got the marriage license yesterday.
And, we even found a used (which does scare me a bit, but it was so cheap) Queen mattress and mattress pad in the classifieds, which we are buying for $20 this weekend. Cross your fingers its in halfway decent shape.

Love to all.
